Helen Bokea is a multilingual global health strategist and leader whose international development experience spans more than 25 years managing, leading and scaling complex consortia programmes. She has overseen health research capacity strengthening, neglected tropical disease (NTD), and access to health technologies and diagnostics initiatives; while spearheading the development of strategic partnerships with a variety of stakeholders, including government ministries, donors, research institutions, grantees, communities and implementing partners.
Until December 2024, she served as the Director of Neglected Tropical Diseases at FIND. Helen brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, programme implementation, NTD elimination and NTD endemic country lived experience. In her work, she champions strong country-led programs built through a health system strengthening approach as a means of achieving sustainable health outcomes.
Her other interests include mentorship and developing the next generation of leaders and she serves as a mentor in the inaugural cohort of The WHO Mwele Malecela Mentorship (MMM) Programme for Women in Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).
