Mona is an Associate Technical Advisor for our programmes in Madagascar and Côte d’Ivoire, focusing on schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminth treatment, alongside managing Female Genital Schistosomiasis prevention projects.
Previously, Mona worked for the International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to pilot community-led misoprostol use and heat-stable carbetocin for postpartum haemorrhage treatment in Sub-Saharan Africa with USAID and the Gates Foundation.Mona also worked in clinical research for the CRO ICON and the CERN spin-off AVO to treat paediatric cancer using proton beam therapy.
Mona holds an MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, which explored the drivers of malaria P. knowlesi infections in Malaysian Borneo.
Outside of work, Mona enjoys using her passport to escape the British weather and attempting to make Mexican dishes.
