SCI Foundation is now Unlimit Health. Learn more about what the change means for our ongoing efforts to eliminate neglected tropical diseases
Dr Wendy Harrison has been the CEO at Unlimit Health since 2019. She joined the organisation in 2009 when it was known as the Schistosomiasis Control Initiative within the School of Public Health at Imperial College in London.
Wendy has a Veterinary Degree from the Royal Veterinary College and worked in mixed animal practices prior to completing a PhD in Clinical Pharmacology and a post doc in comparative vascular biology. Additionally, Wendy holds a Master of Public Health in Developing Countries from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
Wendy is the Co-President elect at the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and Honorary Professor at the Royal Veterinary College. She has also served as a Council member on the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons from 2000 to 2008, Chair of the Council of the Comparative Medicine Section, Royal Society of Medicine 2007, Chair of the UK Coalition against NTDs 2012-2014 and Chair of the NTD NGO Network from 2016 to 2017.
Prior to Unlimit Health, Wendy worked in the commercial sector at GlaxoSmithKline in an advisory role across a range of therapeutic drug development areas, including inflammation and infection.
She has a particular interest in integrated multi-disciplinary approaches to public health in low and middle-income countries. Her passion for public health started when she worked with an organisation donating livestock to communities in Uganda and Rwanda where she saw firsthand the potential synergies between strengthening the veterinary public health and human public health systems.
Wendy loves travelling with her family and experiencing new cultures. She also has a keen interest in psychology and organisational development.
