SCI Foundation is now Unlimit Health. Learn more about what the change means for our ongoing efforts to eliminate neglected tropical diseases

DFID and ICOSA

With funding provided by the UK government’s Department for International Development (DFID), Unlimit Health conducted the Integrated Control of Schistosomiasis and Soil-Transmitted Helminths in sub-Saharan Africa (ICOSA) project across ten countries. The project begain in 2010 with the key aim of providing treatment for parasitic worm infections within each country to school-age children and adults who are at high risk of infection.

Unlimit Health worked closely with the governments in each country, collaborating in particular with the ministries of health and education, to align all work with countries’ national strategies for neglected tropical diseases. ICOSA ran until December 2018 and provided over 155 million treatments.
