SCI Foundation is now Unlimit Health. Learn more about what the change means for our ongoing efforts to eliminate neglected tropical diseases

Dr Matthew Dixon-Zegeye
Senior Research & Innovation Advisor

Matt holds a PhD in epidemiology and mathematical modelling from Imperial College London (2016-2020). His expertise is on modelling Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), studying transmission dynamics and control measures for Taenia solium taeniasis and cysticercosis (known as the pork tapeworm, which causes epilepsy) and onchocerciasis (river blindness), mainly focussed on low-income settings in Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa.

At Unlimit Health, Matt is leading parts of a major project involving a randomised controlled trial in northern Uganda, which will estimate the effect of adding pig mass treatment to human mass treatment to control T. solium. He co-ordinates human treatment activities between Unlimit Health and the Ugandan Ministry of Health, and leads the mathematical modelling activities in the project.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing and watching football, music and family time.
