Côte d’Ivoire is starting to win the battle against parasitic worm diseases. Round worm, hook worm and whip worm cause a disease known as soil-transmitted helminthiasis. Now, only one district remains highly-infected with these parasites. With continued treatment, Côte d’Ivoire could get this number down to zero.
Despite this good news, the threat from parasitic worm diseases is still ever present. Many districts remain highly infected with the disease schistosomiasis. And at least six million children remain at risk from parasitic worm diseases in Côte d’Ivoire. With continued treatment, Côte d’Ivoire could get this number down to zero too.
From 8 to 15 July, your donation to our campaign will be doubled, meaning your support goes twice as far.
With the funds raised, we aim to treat up to 425,000 children aged 5-14 across seven health districts, including the final district highly infected with soil-transmitted helminthiasis. Treatment will relieve painful symptoms, improve children’s health, support school attendance, and help break the cycle of poverty.

Your support helps Côte d’Ivoire take the next step towards elimination of parasitic disease.
